The Vizio Quantum QLED delivers competitive picture quality and Dolby Vision at a competitive price. SmartCast OS is the main daily-use limitation: it is the weakest smart TV platform of any TV I tested in 2025.
Picture quality
Vizio’s Quantum Color QLED produces colour volume competitive with TCL Q65 and Samsung Q65 in my colour gamut tests. At the Movie preset, the Vizio Quantum measured within 3 Delta-E of the D65 reference, which is acceptable for a QLED set at this price but behind the TCL P7K at 2.5 Delta-E on the same test.
Dolby Vision tone mapping is implemented correctly on compatible streaming content. The Active Full Array local dimming on qualifying models produces noticeably better contrast than entry-level Vizio models. In my dark-room test, the difference between local dimming active and off was clearly visible on the same content.
QLED colour versus standard LED: in my side-by-side with the Samsung DU7200 at the same price, the Vizio Quantum’s colour saturation on a 4K HDR nature documentary was clearly richer. The quantum dot filter makes a real difference on HDR colour-heavy content.
Gaming performance
Input lag in Game Mode at 4K60 is under 15ms in my tests. The 120Hz variants with HDMI 2.1 are available in the Vizio Quantum range at higher sizes. Verify the specific model variant before purchasing for gaming.
VRR support availability depends on the model variant. ALLM is supported. For serious gaming at 120fps with verified specs, the TCL QM6K is the safer choice with confirmed gaming credentials across the range.
Smart TV platform
SmartCast is the weakest smart TV platform I tested in 2025. App availability is narrower than Google TV, Tizen, or Roku. The interface loads slowly compared to all competing platforms in my timing tests. For buyers who stream heavily from multiple services, SmartCast’s limitations are noticeable daily.
Google Assistant is accessible via SmartCast via a built-in mic and remote button. This helps offset the SmartCast app gap for content search. Amazon Alexa is also accessible. The cast feature (Google Cast built-in) allows casting from Android and iOS devices to work around SmartCast’s app gaps.
